Rain Rain!

Rain rain go away...Jackson wants to play outside someday!

For the record, most of my posts recently seem to have pictures of my son with just a shirt and a diaper on. For some reason, I guess this is a stage he's going through where he does not prefer to wear his pants. I'm sure it's just a phase,...right moms?? :/

Wait a minute!

...you don't use your living room for a training room?!

...and you don't use your 2 year old's flip sofa for a tackling dummy?!

...well you just might not be a Jones boy then!

Dear Ally,

Dear Ally May, my first "baby".

After lots of decision making and LOTS AND LOTS of prayer, we are having to find a home for you. We have moved to a new home and you are not liking it very much. You have a full nice fenced in back yard, yet you miss having other dogs around and want to come inside all the time. I wish I could let you, you see, your younger brother and your stubborn Daddy will suffer. They love you Ally, your fur just seems to bother their allergies and skin. Please don't take it personal.

I want to thank you for being our first "baby". We've had you since we were dating. Those were some special fond memories we have made and I will never forget them. You have done so good with Jackson. I know you wonder why he gets to come inside and you don't. Regardless Ally, we love you!

We have found such a wonderful home for you Ally May. Your adopted parents only live 5 minutes away so we can still come and see you whenever we want. Oh how you already love them, and their 2 furry kids. You will be the best of friends! This new family will love and care for you so much. We are so thankful and blessed to have found them for you. That was definitely the hand of God!

Til next time, I will see you soon baby girl.

I will love you always "Ally May Face"!

Love,

Momma

Josh's turn! Boo! :(

Last year I told Josh since I picked out Jackson's Halloween costume he could pick it out the next year,...which is now. And for goodness sake the man actually remembered!! If you don't recall I picked out a very cute costume for his first year at trick-or-treating. He was a cute little monkey and the costume could be used again and was not expense.

Even the year prior, J was only 4 months but with working the Fall Festival at Church I saw a Ninja costume at Old Navy for like $9 and couldn't resist. But if you want to get all technical... I guess I did picked it out. I wasn't hunting for a costume though...just shopping and saw it.

Talking with Josh on some costumes, his ideas consist, of course, around either A>some sort of sports outfit, which I am so down for b/c we already have a Tyrod Taylor #5 Tech Jersey. Plus baby Ryan is going to be a VT rah-rah so that would be super cute. Or B> Josh has mentioned he may want to find a Yoda or Chewbacca costume from Star Wars! Seriously?! The kid doesn't have any idea what those things are! So, if you see any cute football attire we could use for a football player let me know. B/c at this point that would be cheaper and SO much more cute than Jackson in a Yoda costume!!! haha!!!!!

J's first week at school

How thrilled am I with Jackson's first week at "school"?! The answer=Very! Jackson has been such a good boy at daycare. He is excited to go and only has cried a couple times when I drop him off. His first week went really good. To be honest every evening he has been so stinking exhausted from it. He just is so busy there and that's perfect for him. They get these calendars (excuse the fact that I cannot rotate the picture): On them the teachers have different activities they do throughout the week. Each week has them working on a specific color, number, letter, "Bible verse", shape, and such. This week they also had pajama day, which was so much fun for J, plus had show and tell. The theme for Show in tell was to bring your favorite ball. Is that not right up Jackson's alley?! Josh even made sure he set out Jackson's top 5 balls for him to pick it out on Thursday morning before we left! What a good Daddy, making his tough decision easier!
The color of the week was: orange. Look at these cute piggies!

...and yes...again I am that mom. I set out all of Jackson's art work from his first week. I love all this stuff! His artwork and knowing his letters, shapes, and such...makes me a happy Mommy!

This was his sheet from his first day. Very neat to see what he works on everyday and what he's doing and how he's behaving!

After one week of being at school, Jackson has come home singing his ABC's, counting up to 13, and naming off all his new friends he's played with. He's very happy there.
PLUS today Josh picked Jackson up at 3pm and I received a message from him that said....
drum roll please.....
.....................................
......................................................
......................................................................
.......................................................................................
"He peed in the toilet twice!!!!"
Can you believe it!? Hopefully this is the beginning of pull ups and big boy underwear. Goodbye diapers!!!! Hello potty training!!!!

Doughnut day!

This Friday night we decided to stay in and have some much needed family time. Josh made a delicious dinner, grilling out burgers. Jackson and I thought we would make the dessert. So we decided to make homemade doughnuts! Jackson LOVED it and was such a super helper!

We are such good cooks!
Mommy cooking while Jackson is coating them with powered sugar, reg sugar, and cinnamon &
sugar. Are you craving doughnuts yet??

Time to enjoy! :)

The final product!

I AM that Mother!!

Yesterday was Jackson's first day of "school"! *Translation: Jackson's first day at his new daycare at Fellowship Community Church/Kidz Connection.*
And much to his dismay, Mommy dropped him off at school!
I even made sure I had an 5 extra minutes to have Jackson pose in front of his "new school"!
I am SO that mother...Yep that's me!

Might I add that he is getting to be SUCH a big boy!?

And don't even think for one second that when Josh told me he was picking him up after he got off from school at 3pm that I didn't take my lunch break then to go with him! Yep, I did. I AM that Mother! And don't you even think for one second that I didn't make both of my boys take another shot of them exiting the daycare. I had to get the "leaving school on his first day of school" shot. Am I the only other mother that does this kind of stuff?? I hope not.

We are so excited for Jackson to start this new step in his life. We hated to leave his sitter and love that he was able to be with her for a year and half, but we are happy to see what God has in store for our little buddy at daycare. We prayed about it and hope that we are making the right decision on where he is at right now. Only time will tell, but he seemed to have a really good first day! His teachers said he did great! Ate good, slept good, played with new friends and talked to them....I was a happy Mommy picking him up yesterday! I was nervous he would be guarded and clingy to the adults in the room but they said he interacted great with everyone. So proud of my big boy! Wow, is he seriously already 2 and in "school"?!

We love 3 day weekends!

Especially when we get to hang around the pool all day with some pretty awesome friends.

Last Monday we had a great time gathering with the gang at the "Kane Community Pool". We had such a good time watching the kids play around, chatting with the girls, and watching the boys (our husbands) make up silly games like usual. Here are some of the pics from our fun, filled day!

Don't turn your head around these Jones boys!

While trying to multi-task cooking dinner, I had Jackson help make the dessert to keep him busy. Well,..and let's face it, that's the most fun thing for a little guy to do that involves cooking. I turned my head to check the food on the stove and then looked back to check on him...and the dessert. This is what I found....

Geez, can't turn my head for 2 seconds!
I then corrected Jackson telling him that we weren't finished and he can lick the "new" spoon after we were all finished with the dessert. He says "yes ma'am" and continues at his task. I then checked the food on the stove again trusting that he's going to be a good little boy and listen to his Momma. I turn back to Jackson AGAIN and this is what I found next...

Peer pressure, I tell ya! What am I going to do with these two?!

Like father, like son.

Thank-you-cheerleaders!

Tuesdays are now well received in the Jones' household. While Mommy is attempting to make dinner before Daddy gets home from soccer practice, Jackson now has something to keep him busy. For the past 3 weeks, Jackson goes to our big window in the kitchen when he sees kids at the school and will admire the Elementary School cheerleading practice going on there.

Thank you girls, for keeping my 2 year old entertained so I can make my boys some dinner!

Congrats to the Sabres U19 team! 3 years in a row winning the Richmond Cup! We had a great time in Richmond this weekend and the girls played so hard and definitely deserved to be the Champs! Congrats girls! What an awesome way to start off the season!

3 cheers for some deals!

Is it sad I put more effort into my son's "look" then mine?? All moms do that right??

Jackson finally fit into his converse shoes that Auntie Meghann got him at a yard sale months ago for just a grand total of $.50! Plus the bonus discount of being Mommy's absolute fav color!

Congrats Ashlee & Zack!

Last weekend Ashlee and Zack tied the knot!
Have I mentioned I love these people?? We have been friends since they were dating in high school...I won't say how long we've been friends b/c that would disclose how old we have now become! Their wedding was like a fairytale! It was at Meadows of Dan, Va (if you're wondering where that is,...it's right outside of Floyd-haha) at Chateau Morrisette. It was outside and the weather was perfect for their special day! The reception was under a big white tent with dinner, dancing, and lots of time with friends and family! Here's some pictures throughout the fun weekend!
@ the rehearsal dinner with the bride...don't you love our wine cork earrings!? Zack's aunt made them for the gals! Doesn't it fit in with the wedding being at a winery??
Catching our ride in style! Limo-woot woot!
The FAB-U-LOUS garter!

My handsome fellas off in the distance towards the end of the ceremony. PS...love outside weddings with a toddler. Much more "doable" for our Jackson!
