Confessions of a Soccer wife

Confessions of a soccer wife: December 2012 Edition

*I must confess we finally broke down and had Kip's hair trimmed.  Josh was more reluctant than I was for his first trim! Finally sitting in that he's no longer a baby...Toddler time.

Before: look at that shaggy hair

Such a big boy!

*I must confess that I think if Jackson, Ryan, and Kiptyn were all born within a year of each other they could so be mistaken for triplets. That Jones gene is dominant.

*I confess that my 2 little boys are just like their Daddy. I took this picture one night after the boys were in bed. All 3 boy's shoes in the middle of the hallway.

*I must confess that my 16 month old used the potty this week!  I was so excited.  Very casually we ask Kip if he needs to go and he'll run to the potty and try here and there.  Well he went #2 a few days ago and #1 today.  So shocked.  I know he's not ready to potty train but I was really proud of him for actually knowing what he was doing.  Good sign!

*I must confess that this week has been the first week since we had kids that I took a week of vacation and didn't go out of town anywhere.  It was such a blessing for me.  We spent so much time with eachother and I can treasure this week for the time I had with the boys.  I can honestly say it gave me a taste of being a stay at home mommy and it breaks my heart to go back to work Monday.  Loved my days at home with all 3 of my boys.

*I must confess that this is the first time my Daddy has ever owned a football shirt.  Jackson picked it out for Poppop for one of his Christmas presents.  Go Skins!

*I must confess I may be a little crazy.  I went 16 whole months without coloring my hair.  That's a record for me.  Before kids (and daycare bills) I use to color or highlight my hair every 2-3 months.  In attempts to save some money I had Josh do my hair.  I'm not going to lie, he was totally into it and did a good job.  What a good sport.  Have I mentioned how much I love that guy?!?!

Santa

Let's go back a few years....This is 2008.  Jackson was 6 months old.

This was a shopping trip in Greensboro,...we totally did this one on a whim.

He has yet to sit on Santa's lap since 2008.  Until now...

He did such a good job.  He was such the "big brother" holding Kiptyn's hand and telling Santa that he want Darth Vader and Spiderman toys and Kiptyn wanted a ball.  So glad the boys (*cough cough Santa!**) smiled for a picture this year.

Tree Slumber Party

Each year when we get our tree we have an annual slumber party.  It's a tradition we do with our family. and we just love it!  We go cut down our tree and throughout the day cook a big variety of snacks for dinner so we can eat while decorating. Then we pile blankets up and "camp out" on the floor with the tree.

Snacking away.

Decorating our awesome tree.

This year with Jackson being older we bought him the collection of the Santa Clause movies.  We ended up watching the first one that evening.

Family Pictures

About a month ago, the amazing April Collins joined us to take pictures of our family.

I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to get Kiptyn to stay still for pictures... Photo shoot + 15 month old= a little difficult.  Kudos to April who did such a good job!  Thanks girl!

Tree Hunting we will go.

We always love each Thanksgiving weekend to go searching for our perfect tree.  This year we found the best one yet!  It was so much fun taking the boys to the tree farm and picking out "the One".  We had such nice weather and a great time together.

So thankful

This year was our first year having Thanksgiving lunch with both of the boys at school.  This time last year Kip was still a baby so he didn't join us for turkey and more yummy food.  It was so nice getting to go spend some time with them during their day at school.  We ate lunch while watching some cute pictures on a slideshow from their daily routines.  So thankful we got to spend the hour with them.

Here's some pictures from Thanksgiving spent with our families.

Making desserts and candy. (3 generations by the way)

This cutie is ready for turkey!

Preparing the turkey.  The "big boys" had to wear their RG3 shirts.

It was such a gorgeous day!

We had such a nice Thanksgiving spent with family eating tons of awesome food and making such sweet memories.  Oh, and of course rooting on those Skins!
