Too much to say Tuesday

Sometimes, you just don't have to say anything at all

But you know me...I have to say something...

Jeters 2012

Back in 2009, Jeters Farm was our friend family's best kept secret.  We love it.

Let's go back to the first year we went in October 2009:

Jackson October 2009

Sam, Charley, Jackson & Jordon 2009

This year was our 4th annual trip! We left an open invitation to whoever could come and we definitely gave Jeter some business.  Unfortunately our family was every which direction with 2 boys wanting to hurriedly move onto each fun site so I didn't get to see everyone as much as I would have liked but it was better than not seeing friends there at all.  Here are some pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch last Saturday.  It was an all day event!  We spent 4 hours there (no exaggeration) and I may be voted Mom of the Year with Kiptyn and I both getting pretty sun burned cheeks!  My bad.  We had such a good time.  Love little family traditions!

The boys and the pumpkins.

J enjoying the pony ride.

Kip's turn on the pony.

My sweet pumpkins.

The day couldn't be successful without a little drama.  Jackson insisted on still wearing his cleats since we came right from soccer practice.  This would have been fine if we weren't going through a corn maze.  Plus wooden stairs to look over the maze.  About 4 steps from the bottom J lost balance and wiped out! Luckily he went straight to the ground so there was no bouncing from stair to stair.  There were a few tears, dirty elbows and knees, but thankfully no scars!

Kiptyn found his perfect pumpkin ("ball").

Jackson realized he could go faster if he ran and slid on his stomach.  He was so excited when Sam met up with us so they could do it together!  Boys. *sigh*

We had such a wonderful time at Jeter's Farm.  Each year they have something new for us!  Is is sad I'm already looking forward to next year?  What can I say?  Fall is my absolute favorite and I love some pumpkin patch fun!

Couples Retreat in Gatlinburg

A few weeks ago, Josh and I were fortunate enough to take the weekend away together with 6 other couples.  Our Church does a couples retreat each fall and this is Josh and I's 3rd annual.  We have such a nice time getting away for a few days and having adult time together and getting to fellowship with other couples.  We did the study on Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas and really enjoyed it.  It was a nice refresher to our marriage and we are looking forward to doing the couples devotions now that we are back in town together.

Here's some pictures from my phone from the weekend.

After we completed "the amazing race" through Gatlinburg.  It had rained a little and we are a bit sweaty b/c let's face it, we are a competitive bunch and we ran at each location we went to!

Deep fried hershey bar-delicious!

Our cabin had old school games that Josh stayed on for quite a little while!

Feeding the birds.

Eating at the Mellow Mushroom.

Minute to win it.  Josh and Gregg finally stayed up late one night to prove "It can be done!"

Kiptyn Diaries

Good evening blog readers,

It's been a little while since I have written a post so I wanted to give you an update on all my fun stuff I can do now.  I'm now almost 14 months!  Can you believe it?  Mommy and Daddy can't.  I'm having such a fun time being an official toddler now.  You can do so much cool stuff.

I can now feed myself with a spoon and fork.  Occasionally I may make a mess.

I get to help around the house too.  I particularly love to sweep and may throw away the dust pan in the trash after.

I'm so smart now.  I have found if I need to cool off I go to my favorite air vent in the kitchen.

It gives me a nice breeze!

My "Bubba" is my best friend.  I love to play with him.
Daddy and Bubba have officially taught me how to hold a snap!
After, I clap and say "goal!"

I definitely love the camera.  I can even say "cheese" when I see a camera.  Okay, maybe it comes out as "eeze" but I'm practicing.  :)

Here's some more stats about me:

I know where my nose and beebo (belly button) are.
Can say: Momma, Dadda, Bubba, Dog, Up, Bee bo, Goal, Nana (banana), Zues (shoes), Night night...
I quit taking my bottle cold turkey at 1 yr and 4 days and was off my Paci at 12 1/2 months.
I love to sit in Mommy's lap and read books at night night.  After I go to get monkey and walk to bedroom.  Mommy and Daddy lift me up to turn off light switch, kiss eveyone, and lay down and say "night night".  I'm a "Going to bed Pro"!
I know what sound a monkey and dog makes and can tell you.
I have 10 teeth now.
I shake my head no and understand what it means.

Things I love:
Shoes
Directv Remote
Sweeping
Sitting on people's laps
Goldfish (it's my fav "go to" snack)
Sleeping
Basketball hoop
Music to dance (swing my arms around) to.  I love Jackson's VBS cd and Daddy's warmup cds!
Bath time with Bubba
Walks in the stroller
Eating
Climb and sit in Jackson's dresser drawers.
When the fridge or dishwasher is left open, I climb right in!
Slides at the park
For someone to chase me
Any sort of ball: bouncey, soccer,..

Things I don't like:
Veggies (at home, I eat that at school)
Being told no
Diaper being changed
Putting on  jammers after my bath

Basically life as a toddler is pretty cool!

Thanks for reading and until next time.

This turtle is out of his shell!

Most of you that actually read this blog, know Jackson.  And if you know Jackson, you know he is very sensitive.  Almost to the fact you have to be around him for about 20 minutes before he opens up if he doesn't know you all too well.  Well this little 4 year old has completely started to open up.  He usually is very standoffish to Josh's soccer players.  20+ girls can be a little overwhelming for a little boy.  Well he has come to love Daddy's "little soccer girls".  That's what he calls Josh's u14 team this fall.  He very much enjoys going to practices and games.

This weekend about put me in tears on how grown up he's getting as a preschooler.  Usually after games he runs up and hugs Daddy.  Well after the championship game he did that, however he didn't stay by Josh's side like normal.  He ran up to one of his players that he is particularly grown very comfortable around.  Once he got to her he gave her a huge hug and lifted his hand for her to hold.  This was a sensitive moment for me.  I've tried to not be the "overbearing" mother and make him talk to people if he doesn't want but always encouraged him more so to be polite and if someone says hi you respond back as well. He didn't necessarily have to have a conversation with them, just to be polite.  So by seeing all this this weekend, I was just blown away completely.  So encouraged to see him opening up.

Do you see my little man out of his shell???

Had to include Kip loving on Daddy once we won the championship!

10 Years from now he'll appreciate that he was surrounded by a bunch of girls, right??

U14 Champs (+one super cute 4 year old)!
So happy to see Jackson becoming his own little character.
