Confessions of a Soccer wife

February 2013 Edition
Confessions...

I'll first start off and confess that I totally love the new Taylor Swift CD Red. Don't judge, I rock to it in my car.

I must confess after carrying a US Cellular phone for YEARS, I have not only switched to Verizon, but I now have the iPhone!  Can you believe it?!

I must confess that Jackson totally loves him some 3D movies.  Mom and Dad got a new TV and he is loving watching CARS 2 in 3D. I enjoyed it too.

I must confess that I'm officially training for a 5k.  With the motivational help from my husband and Amy I started a couch to 5k training schedule.  I'm really hoping to at least start enjoying to run.  I've completed 4 weeks so far of training and just registered for my first 5k! :)

I must confess, I totally have a toddler now.  Not only is Kiptyn not a baby (sniff sniff) but I'm now receiving weekly emails from babycenter.com titling "Your Toddler Now".  When did this happen?  Does time not fly by?!

Lastly, I confess that my husband loves when we match...can't you tell from his enthused face? When he got home from his first day of tryouts this week we realized we matched.  We were in for the evening and not leaving the house again,...if not I'm sure he'd go change.  Jackson wanted to document it with my phone! :)

Valentines

Thursday was Valentines Day and while Josh and I are just appreciative for a date night we did have a little fun planned for the boys.  Jackson was estatic for his school party and his Power Ranger valentines but he was also pretty excited to make Daddy a surprise dinner.

Kip making Daddy's Valentine.

"romantic" candlelit dinner with my 3 boys
Boys brought me flowers on Wednesday

We made heart shaped pancakes and bacon.  No people I didn't use a cookie cutter, those babies are free hand heart pancakes right there.  I will be hostessing my own cooking show soon (ha!).

Jackson made us place cards for our glasses of milk and sparkling grape juice.

Kip was all about some "cheers" and clinging glasses together.

Enjoyed some cupcakes.

Friday evening we met up with the Dowdy's for our annual Vday IHOP/movie (pre soccer season) date night.  This may have been our 5th year I think.
Had to document our dinner...
We were so proud to figure out facetime on our iphones and how to take a pic while on it.  We are technology geniuses.

Our family had a fun Valentines weekend.  Happy to celebrate our loved ones each day! :)

Snow!

So far this year we've already had so much more snow than last year.  Jackson LOVES it.  Me, I could just have one a year and be perfectly fine.  If he sees a flake, he's ready to get his bibs and boots on.  Glad he's enjoying the cold weather.

...your kids don't wear goalie gloves instead of snow gloves?? Really? :)

Now that we have had a few rounds of snow, bring on Spring!

Christmas (Part 2)

Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day.

Only the best cookies for Santa!

The first thing we do in the morning is spend time remembering why we celebrate Christmas.  Josh reads from scripture and uses the nativity figures to tell the story of Christ's birth.  Jackson was so into it helping Daddy tell Kiptyn about Jesus.  This is always my favorite part of the day!

Hugs

Jackson is totally into Star Wars right now and was so pumped to get his Darth Vader mask and light saber.  Kiptyn, of course, got Luke's saber so they could battle.

My big boys got some Skins stuff at Mal and Pal's house.  RGIII is now hanging over our fireplace.

Kiptyn got the pack of 100 balls (which is now hidden to bring out on special occasions).

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years!  ( I know I'm SO behind )

Christmas (Part 1)

The weekend before Christmas we had our annual sleepover at Mom and Dad's house.
We had such a good time sleeping over and spending time with family.

Snuggles

Grandkids

We got Keira a soccer goal and when she open it she said "Yay, is it an IPAD?!"  Sorry Keira, just a soccer goal.

Kiptyn couldn't wait to eat breakfast so he had some fruitloops while opening gifts.

Jackson was pretty stoked for his Darth Vader back pack.

Enjoying breakfast.

Playing "Who shook Hook?" with Uncle Gary and Auntie Cyndee.  (Still wearing backpack)

After breakfast, gifts, and games we went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Crystal's 30 birthday.  It being Christmas Eve, like every year is never busy so we have the place mostly to ourselves.

Jackson loved the new sports games.
